10 Film Rumors We Should Start

1 Feb

Never let the truth get in the way of a good story, or better yet a good rumor. Unfortunately, movie rumors have been kind of dull since Three Men and a Baby, and the film world is in dire need of some new material. Let’s spice things up and contribute these 10 film fabrications! C’mon, we can do it!

1.A young Sandra Bullock played Atreyu in The Neverending Story.

2.Alfred Hitchcock was developing Tron when he died.

3.John Travolta was born with a tail.

4.In High School Musical 2, during the song “Fabulous”, you can spot a grip in the background trying to commit seppuku.

5.Morgan Freeman played Grig in The Last Starfighter.

6.Nick Cave wrote a sequel to Gladiator that follows Maximus as he journeys to the underworld (oh wait, that one’s true).

7.The Green Mile was orignially going to be performed by puppets.

8.The Keanu Reeves character in Speed was written for Billy Crystal.

9.Judy Dench briefly dated Jack Nicklaus in the 70s.

10.Oliver Reed would refuse to come to the set of The Three Musketeers until he’d had a pint of Turkish Raki and a bear-meat pie (this one might be true).

Got more? Post them to comments!

I just finished a biography of Oliver Reed, “Evil Spirits.” If even half the stories about him and Keith Moon are true…well, BRAVO!

    11. Wavy Gravy lived in Cary Grant’s guest house in the 60’s. He was kicked out after Cary found him in flagrante delicto with Mr. Grant’s Irish Setter.

    Makes you feel lazy, huh?
